Then we headed to another really neat location, the Ironton Rail Trail. When I first saw where we were going to be walking here, I assumed that we were just finding two boxes along a long, flat trail but soon discovered that there was lots of history here.

My first sight of the kilns was awesome and along the walk there were lots of ruins from the industry that used to be there. And of course, the trail was built around the railroad that used to deliver and pick up products there. Lightnin' Bug's stamps here are also pretty awesome. This was a walk that I really enjoyed.
We next headed to the elusive Allentown Rose Garden. Nathan said that he knew right where it was but couldn't get it last time he had been there because of the snow. Well, he was right, he DID know right where it was and I was pretty abashed to see that it was only about fifteen feet from where I had been searching for it. But now I have it, thanks, Nathan! Now I have that monkey off my back. We then enjoyed lunch at the nearbyYocco's, the hot dog restaurant introduced to us by Rich when we found his box by the same name.
Our last stop for the day was for the Seem Seed Letterbox. This place was a little weird, you start out in a cornfield and end up on a very neat boardwalk which leads to a very neat little pond. I really loved the stamp from this box, Rich says it was one of his first and is considering replacing it but I urged him to keep it. It is a very strong, clean cut stamp and perfect for this little park.
After this, I was going to keep boxing after Nathan and I split up for the day but was too tired so I headed for home and spent the rest of the afternoon watching my Philadelphia Eagles finally win a game. There is hope for them yet! I am now looking forward to our gathering on Saturday at Tyler State Park but it doesn't look as though the 60 degree weather that we are having now will hold out until then although the 40 degrees that they are predicting is a whole lot better than what I boxed in last week. Rich checked on my Elvii boxes this past weekend when he and Kirby Rider found all three of them safe and sound so I won't have to check on them at the gathering. Thanks Rich for letting me know they are in good shape and for planting all of the above boxes.
