Visiting Jayne and Michael

The weather forecast for today was for a nice, sunny but not hot day and Bill and I decided to take the convertible out for some exercise.  The problem was that we couldn't decide on a destination so I pulled out my letterboxing map and we decided to pay a visit to Jayne Mansfield.

This famous movie star's parents were born in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania but Jayne was born in Bryn Mawr and was raised in New Jersey. For some reason, when Jayne died in a car accident at a very young age, she was buried in Pen Argyl and today, there is a letterbox there in her honor.  So we moseyed up the road about 70 miles and visited Jayne and Bill waited patiently in the car while I collected her stamp.
As we meandered our way back home, Bill mentioned that we would almost be passing right by the Eagles training camp and he asked me if they were still in training. I quickly dug out my wonderful Android phone and googled the Eagles.  I found out that they were indeed in camp that day and we quickly made the decision to stop to see them also.

After we had made the rounds of the souvenir tent and were waiting for the Eagles to come outside, I remembered that there was also a box related to Eagles camp.  I had downloaded the Box Radar program a few weeks ago so today, I made my first use of it and it was wonderful.  It quickly told me that there was indeed a box and I left Bill to wait for the Eagles while I searched for Donovan McNabb's jersey.  As it turned out, I could have driven very close to the box but since we were early for practice, we had a front row parking space and I didn't think Bill would like it too much if I moved the car and lost it, so I did walk about a mile to collect this box.   When I returned to the fields, the Eagles had just come out and I shed my sweaty shirt and donned my new Eagles tshirt and enjoyed watching my boys in green with Michael Vick in the lead.
