Yesterday when I pulled into the parking area at the Okehocking Nature Preserve in Media, I noticed a set of keys laying on the fence bordering the lot. I checked them out and there was a Kwikset house key and a key that looked like a car key. I felt bad for the person who had lost them but then noticed that they were very dirty and starting to tarnish so I determined that they had been there for quite a while. When I came back from my hike, I noticed that someone else must have examined them because they had been picked up and replaced in a different position.
This got me to thinking on my drive home, how can letterboxes which are actually hidden in the woods go missing but these car keys which were right out in the open remained? Strange!
