Boxtoberfest IV

It has become a tradition that my daughter, Out of Sight, and I attend the Boxtoberfest gathering each year and we always have a fantastic time. The first Boxtoberfest, Laura was expecting Milkmonster and it was also our first gathering. We met so many wonderful people there and most of these people are our wonderful letterboxing buddies to this day. Those we met that year include three of my bestest boxing buddies, Lightnin' Bug, Hikers 'n Hounds, and Cyclonic, as well as Indigo Vulture, MizScarlet and Gerania. The second Boxtoberfest included the presence of the Milkmonster, making his debut at a boxing gathering. And this year, Boxtoberfest IV, again included the Milkmonster, who is now a seasoned letterboxing veteran, and Out of Sight attending with me. And what a picture perfect day and setting it turned out to be. Here Wednesday Bowler and Milkmonster enjoy the view of the pond by the pavilion.

We were happy to see all of the above in attendance this year as well as some other newer boxing buddies, Sheba, Lotus, Team Green Dragon, Warcat, the Von der Insels, Celtic Cat and Wednesday Bowler. And making a brief appearance - long enough to attach a really neat car cootie to my car, were two of my newest boxing friends, Psychiker and Syner.

Letterboxingbee and her hubby provided a nice selection of boxes in the area for those in attendance to enjoy without having to trav
el but we chose to stay in the area of the pavilion and were only able to seek one of these boxes - A Line. Milkmonster gives away the hiding spot in this photo. Once he discovered a cardboard box, he could have been happy playing with it all day. But it did conceal a letterbox so we had to keep him away from it.

And as usual at one of Letterboxing
bee's gatherings, there was enough food to feed an army. Traditionally, at a Boxtoberfest, any food that is left over after the gathering is given to the local police or park personnel to finish off. They must have had a feast yesterday. Another thing that I really like about Letterboxingbee's gatherings is that she takes a food collection for those less fortunate. It looked as though the attendees were very generous again this year.

Because I was so busy running after the Milkmonster, I didn't get as many photos as I would have liked to. Here are the best of the crop.Ewwww! A girl is touching me! Little Tallah, daughter of Stalking Wolf, later proved to be an opera singing prodigy!

Daniel and Milkmonster play on the steps. I was amazed at the number of children attending this gathering.

MizScarlet in the extreme left, Diane -one half of the Von der Insels, Cyclonic, Out of Sight and Milkmonster share a conversation.

Our hostess, Letterboxingbee, watches as Hikers 'n Hounds, GeckoSpot, Lightnin' Bug do some stamping in.

Out of Sight and Psychiker enjoy the beautiful weather.

The event stamp, another Letterboxingbee creation that I am happy to add to my collection. I took this photo so that I could do the coloring at home. But I am happy to be able to post it here also.
