Taking a Break

Two weeks into my self imposed hiatus from letterboxing while I shopped, planned, cleaned and worried about my big Thanksgiving dinner, I had suffered enough so I ran over to Lebanon county Sunday afternoon to release some tension and look for a few newish boxes. The first one I headed for was one of JBZfarm's two recent ones in Lebanon, Keystone #1 I am not that familiar with the Lebanon area so I was pleasantly surprised to find the picturesque little canal park that provided a home for this box. I wasn't there on a day that the boats made trips through the tunnel though, which was ok with me because my time out was really limited anyway. There were a few other people in the park with me, mostly people with dogs. One man was giving his dog a good grooming on top of one of the picnic tables. Guess that is better than having dog hair all over one's house. From here I went on to find the Spongebob's Adventure #5 . This is a mystery box so I can't disclose where it is but I have to say that this park kind of gave me the creeps. I was having a hard time imagining it as a place where kids would be running around and playing although there was a very nice playground there. I was the only person in this park today except for the groundskeeper who was blowing leaves around with a tractor and blower setup.

From Spongebob, I headed to the Rail Trail North located in Cornwall. The clues mention that you have to look at the number on a benchmark and t
hey also mention that there was a sharp dropoff from that benchmark to the road, and they weren't kidding. I have this little fear of heights so I was wondering if I could finish the box without the number. But I toughed it out and crawled out to the ledge in the picture. The benchmark is that little green spot on the upper part of the wall. So I got my number and found my third box of the day. I was amused to see that I must have just missed my friend, Pink Panther's parents. When I pulled the box out I was happy to see that it was big enough to leave a hitchhiker in because I am now in possession of four....yes, that is correct....four hitchhikers which need to find a home. I rooted through my pack looking for the biggest one that I had - the big ones are always the hardest to find a home for. And I opened the box to begin my stamping, only to find .....another hitchhiker, left there by Greyhound RV Traveller. Looks like I will have plenty of HHs to exchange in Cyclonic's Neshaminy HHH next weekend. I wish I had really nice pictures to post this time but we are in that drab time of year and nothing looks beautiful outside anymore. This trail, though, is really nice and will definitely warrant some additional exploring, I may even be able to test out my bike riding skills here some day.

By this time, the guilt was beginning to set in and I decided to make my way home to finish setting up our dining area ( AKA the garage) and spend the week dreaming of next weekend and the three boxing days that I have planned.
