The people and other truly important things:
My precious grandson, Nicholas, who made me see the world in a whole new way. There is nothing equivalent to being a grandparent. And nothing as inspiring as watching a little person discover the world.
My beautiful daughter, Laura, who is my confidante, my shoulder to cry on, my best friend.
The man in my life, Bill, who tolerates so many of my crazy ideas.
My son in law, Chip, who takes such good care of two of the most precious people in the world to me.
My companion through many of life's trials and tests, my sister, Teri.
My bestest letterboxing buddies, Crayola Posse, Pink Panther, Dogs with Wings, Lightning Bug, Hikers 'n Hounds, Cyclonic.
Barney, the little dog who has been with me for 9 years of many, many changes.
A good job with a stable, steady company.
A home that is warm and cozy.
The doctor who discovered my dissected carotid artery and. in my opinion, saved my life.
Letterboxing, the hobby that keeps me moving, tests my thinking processes, brought me so many new friends and takes me to so many new and interesting places.
And the silly things:
My little RAV4
My digital camera
My laptop
Cell phones
The ability to be an Eagles fan who always has hope that NEXT year will be THE year
Country music, especially listening to (and looking at) Tim McGraw
My bed
Clouds - no one knows how many pictures I have of clouds!
Pizza - after 55 years of eating pizza, I never get tired of it
Las Vegas
Law and Order and CSI tv shows
Books on tape - my constant companions as I travel to and from all those wonderful letterboxes
Please email me the things that you are thankful for and I will add them to my post here.
Hi Jan!
Hope your day went Great! Your blog said to e-mail you for things you are thankful for, so here is my list:
Black Swan-my husband and best friend (for 22yrs). I am so glad he loves letterboxing and hiking as much as I do!
Family-Especially Mom & Dad-who taught me to have an open heart and mind to everything in life.
Friends-Letterboxing and Noxers. The Noxers because they still love us and are there for us even though we have neglected them sometimes because of our obsession with boxing. Our letterboxing friends because they have helped us on journey. I don't think you know how much I appreciate your friendship & fun! Each of you are so special and have unique characteristics that I love!
Nieces and Nephews- I have so enjoyed watching them grow up and they are so much fun, even as teenagers!
My "Babies"-Nikki & Tasha. According to the chart in the Vet's office, they should not be alive. But they are and I am so lucky to be their "mom".
Health-I am grateful we are able to go boxing and have not had an afflictions to deter us from our fun.
Silly things:
A computer that works
Friends that are techno-literate!
Woobies (blankets)
A car that works
I'm sure there is more, I'm just so Thankful-for Life!
Have a great night!
Mary
And from my other good boxing girlfriend:
What am I Thankful for?
Truly important things:
My dearest friend, RGBisMe, whom I trust implicitly.
My good hearted and amazingly multi-talented son, Ravenboy11.
My creative and sweet witted parents, Maga11 & Toolman Luke.
The good health my family and I currently share.
Mooch's magic, Birbanto's bold busses, Franklin's friendship.
The friends whom I have made through letterboxing; fast hikers, slow hikers, those with whom I have yet t hike. Your creative processes are the real inspiration behind our plants and generous natures compel us to keep hunting.
Good friends and family who realize how blistering shy I actually am and what energy it take me to be anywhere in public.
My brain that functions on a creative level that, although I cannot, RGBisMe can translate into beauty, function and entertainment.
The wheel of the year.
Silly things (most of my life by the way):
Random acts of art (in nature and created), not thoughtless graffiti.
Hot bubble baths.
Coins forever in macadam.
Blue lights.
Hidden jokes.
Playing cell phone/photo hide and seek.
Sweet secrets/surprises and those who enjoy understand and respect them.
