Ormond Beach

Our next boxing experience took us to another lovely garden setting.  This time Bill chose to wait in the car for me because he was getting boxed out but I was really wishing he had been with me to see this little Viet Nam veterans memorial.  Bill IS a Viet Nam veteran, serving on the USS Perry during the conflict and he loves to see tributes to servicemen from that era.  To say that these veterans were not treated well when they returned home  is an understatement and it is only in recent years that they have received the recognition that they earned.

We hadn't gone alligator hunting yet on this visit so when I saw this little guy, I knew that my record of seeing alligators on each of my visits was intact.
This picture shows the little plates of food left out for the squirrels right in the middle of the trail and my taking pictures of them were my attempts to disguise what I was doing from the workers that were only a few feet away.  The box was just a few feet behind these dishes but thanks to the thick foilage, I was able to pull it pretty easily.
This was just a pretty little labyrinth in a pavilion.

The reward at the end of this walk was a waterfall set in the thick greenery in these gardens.
From the garden walk we headed to a less picturesque area where the box seemed to be missing, my only non find of all the boxes that we sought on this visit.  However, I did like this picture of the bridge over the causeway and the heron below is the only bird picture I took in this week in Florida.
