I am going to backtrack a little bit because I did want to write about the many boxes that I found on my visit to Florida in March. We usually have at least one big outing planned for each of my visits but this time, we hadn't planned anything because my next visit a month later was a REALLY big one. We were going to join my daughter, Outofsight, and my grandchildren, African Wild and Squeaks, at Disney World to celebrate Squeaks fifth birthday. So this visit was going to be low key and it was the perfect opportunity and the perfect time of year to box in Florida. In all, we collected 30 boxes and visited some of the most beautiful places which is one of the things that I love the most about letterboxing. Even the noxer man in my life knows that we will see some beautiful sites thanks to my search for little boxes. We stayed fairly close to home the first day and visited the former sugar mills in Dunlawton. The grounds were filled with wonderful gardens and I was almost as happy that we found these gardens as with the well placed box that I found.
I love the Spanish moss that covers so many of the trees in the south.
I am always on the lookout for little lizards who are willing to stay still long enough for me to photograph them. This one was very cooperative.
These are the containers where the sugar was cooked.
I don't know what this flower is but I know that it was a welcome sight to these snow jaded eyes.
Bill was thrilled to pose with the triceratops who resides in the gardens.
There was loveliness everywhere we looked and I thank Drgdlg for taking us on a tour of these gardens which are so close to our home but previously unknown to us.
